What is the Heathrow Border Inspection Post?

Uniquely situated within the only on-airport Perishables Handling Centre at Heathrow, the Border Inspection Post is the veterinary examination centre for all animal products entering the European Union.

The World Cargo BIP employs the most experienced personnel, enjoys purpose built facilities and works closely with the local authority inspectors. Using our own customs and in-house inventory systems, we ensure that your consignment is cleared as quickly and safely as possible.

Directly linked to the British Airways World Cargo Perishables Centre, we can also arrange full customs clearance, container breakdown and a wide range of value-added and distribution services including order preparation and labelling.

Who should use the World Cargo BIP?

European Union (EU) legislation details that certain commodities imported into the EU from third countries, must be checked at an approved Border Inspection Post prior to entry.

The World Cargo BIP is open to all importers, forwarders, agents, airlines and transit shed operators, and is fully approved by the UK Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods as well as EU Commission.
