Fuel Surcharge Decrease to Level 10 (05/10/2006)
British Airways World Cargo today announced a decrease to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.34/kg / USD0.50/kg / EUR0.50/kg, with effect from 19 October 2006.
The fuel surcharge decrease follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 10 threshold. The index was developed by BA World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the British Airways World Cargo website.
Chris Bosworth, General Manager Commercial Development said: "This is the second drop in the fuel surcharge level in as many weeks. The decrease brings a welcome respite to the industry though fuel prices remain high."
