Launch of Munich freighter service (28/03/2007)

BA World Cargo has announced the launch of a new weekly Boeing 747 freighter service to Munich, effective 29 March.

The new service will route Stansted - Munich - Delhi - Hong Kong and has been developed as a response to the increasing Indian-bound trade from Southern Germany. It will also be the first time that the Far East will be served by both Munich and Frankfurt hubs.

Keith McDonald, regional commercial manager central, south & east Europe, BA World Cargo comments: "The summer schedule has given us the chance to review our network and identify key business opportunities that will best serve our customers' needs.

"At present we get a significant amount of business from the Munich area which was previously trucked to Frankfurt. This new routing will minimise transit times for our Munich-based customers and provide them with an efficient service to the Far East."
