Islamabad services doubled (31/10/2007)

British Airways World Cargo has announced an increase to its existing services between Islamabad and London Heathrow from three to six rotations per week, following a positive market response to recent freighter introductions in Pakistan. The new services will double capacity in the region from 29 October 2007.

The new mainline Boeing 777 flights will complement BA World Cargo's two weekly B727 freighter routings (Karachi - Bahrain; Lahore - Bahrain) launched in July 2007, and will cater to Pakistan's increasing strength as a manufacturing hub within the South Asia region.

Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: "As a result of ongoing increases in fuel prices, which directly impact the costs of providing airfreight, it has been necessary to raise the fuel surcharge in accordance with our published index and policy."
