Fuel Surcharge Decrease (10/11/2005)
British Airways World Cargo today announced a decrease to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP 0.37/kg / USD 0.55/kg / EUR 0.55/kg, with effect from 24th November.
The fuel surcharge decrease follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 11 threshold. The index was developed by BA World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the British Airways World Cargo website.
Keith Packer, Senior Vice President Commercial, said: "The past few months have seen unprecedented fuel prices in the industry. However, recent weeks have seen the market stabilise and there has been some relief with prices falling and triggering a decrease in our fuel surcharge. This brings a welcome respite to the industry, even though costs remain close to an all time high."
