Statement on fuel surcharge (14/08/2008)

British Airways World Cargo has announced a reduction to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.81 / USD1.25 / EUR1.25, with effect from 28 August 2008.

The fuel surcharge reduction follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 25 threshold. The index was developed by BA World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated every week and posted on this website.

Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: "While fuel prices remain high, with costs falling we have seen some relief. This has triggered two fuel surcharge decreases in two consecutive weeks, in line with our index."
